Buy Low, Sell High! Mortgage Rates Reach All Time Lows

Friday, June 18th, 2010

richmond new homesBuying a house today can be a legal steal.  It’s the best time in a generation to buy a new home, not only in Roanoke and Richmond, Virginia, but across the United States.  There are three reasons that make buying a new home now a smart decision that will pay dividends for years to come.

1) Mortgage interest rates are at historically low levels.  During the week of June 7, rates for 15 and 30 year mortgages reached all time lows.  After fluctuating above an annual rate of 5.0%, 30 year mortgage rates now are at 4.75%.  Rates for 15 year mortgages are even closer to 4%! On a $250,000 loan, every half of a point decrease equates to an (more…)

Laundry – the Easy Way

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Oh my Word, CeLee put up your laundry!  That is what you will hear at my house every Saturday, and sometimes more frequently, as I try to cajole my twelve year old daughter into putting away her laundry.  While I readily admit that I don’t enjoy doing laundry, it is one of those things that has to be done.  If only there was an easier way to do laundry.  But wait there is… in a Boone Homes laundry room.

Boone Homes laundry rooms spaciousness and extra cabinetry will help you have all the room you need to do your laundry easily and efficiently. You can add a deep laundry sink on your counter top  for those special items that you hand wash, as well as Mudroom cubbies to help you organize all of your families’ things.  With the extra counter space, you can even have a place for your sewing, or just extra space to organize things for your family’s busy schedule.

With a Boone Homes laundry room you can also have the latest in laundry technology, like dryers that steam dry your clothes, have sanitary cycles, and your choice of load capacity.  Washing machines that have H2ition wash system technology (by GE) this intuitive (more…)

Roanoke Welcomes a New Medical School

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

This is a historical year for Roanoke, Virgina.  The new Virginia Tech Carillion School of Medicine (VTC) opens its doors with the first classes beginning this fall.  How exciting to be a part of this adventure from the beginning, and watch as a  new generation of doctors grow and learn.  What’s more exciting is this school is different from other medical schools.  It is a unique, public-private partnership between one of America’s top research universities and a major healthcare institution. VTC School of Medicine will educate physicians through inquiry, research and discovery. It will have a cutting-edge curriculum called Patient Centered Learning.  Only 15 percent of medical schools across the country employ a PCL curriculum. In addition VTC will offer research as a key component of the curriculum, and only 5 percent of schools nationwide are currently offering that.  Boone Homes is proud to welcome VTC students, faculty and staff to the Roanoke valley.

We, at Boone Homes, pride ourselves on being on the cutting edge offering the latest trends in the home-buying market.  We are one of the few home builders (more…)

Boone Homes – the name says it all

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

There is just something in a name.  Remember when your good name meant something, and someone’s word was their bond? Most of the time it seems like those days are long behind us, but occasionally you still meet people  who take pride in their good name.  I know some people like that, and their name is Boone.

When you buy a Boone home you are buying the years of hard work that have gone into creating a quality product.  You are buying the dedication of everyone associated with Boone Homes who has worked tirelessly to craft a home that sets industry standards and maintains an even higher standard with its homeowners.  Ask a Boone team member why they like their job, and they will tell you it is because they build a product they can be proud of with people they are proud of.   Ask a homeowner why they picked a Boone home, and they will tell you it is because of the attention to detail that went into (more…)
