Never Shovel Snow in Roanoke Again !

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

After last winter’s record breaking snowfall across the state and the rare White Christmas we had this year, you must be thinking of all the snow ahead of us this winter. If you’re looking for Roanoke real estate, but don’t want the hassle of shoveling snow, then look no further than the Coach Homes of Southwood; Boone Homes’ No Maintenance Community in Roanoke. During our last snowfall in December, I drove through the Southwood community (of course after several hours of shoveling my own driveway and clearing snow off my car), and what did I see? All of the driveways were clear of snow and the sunshine was melting what little ice was left. These homeowners have realized their dream of never shoveling snow in Roanoke again. (more…)

You better shop around!

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

You know when you go to the mall and you are looking for one particular item, say a black skirt.  You go to every store and you try on the ones you like, look at the prices, then at the end of the day you get the one you liked the best (and your husband rolls his eyes and says that is the first one you tried on).  Well, why is homebuying any different than shopping for that skirt? You should shop around. You should visit a lot of different builders and communities and see what each one has to offer.  Write down all of the things you like the best about each one.

Why would Boone Homes want you to do that you might ask?  The answer is simple, we know we are the best.  We have the best built homes, the best communities, and we will offer you the best deal.  The list will be helpful (more…)

Living well can be affordable

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I don’t know about you, but I have been watching every dollar these days. I have been buying less, and saving more. However, if you are like me and you like to live well, saving can be difficult. Designer clothes at discount prices can be hard to find, and some things like Estee Lauder and Dooney and Bourke seem to never go on sale. So what is a girl to do? I guess you could use drug store makeup and just use last year’s purse, but why sacrifice if you don’t have to? I know a secret. Right down the road from Richmond in a little town called Williamsburg (well maybe it isn’t so little) there is this great outlet mall. The outlet mall features some of my favorite things, Jones New York, a cosmetic outlet store, and yes even a Dooney outlet– what more could a girl want? You won’t believe the savings.

Living well can be affordable, and not just in fashion. You will never find a better time to get an outstanding deal on the home of your dreams. Virginia home builder, Boone Homes has homes that are reduced by $5,000, $10,000 and even $50,000 in some of Roanoke and  Richmond’s best active adult communities like Coach Homes of Southwood in Roanoke or Coach Homes of Kinloch in Richmond. I want a Sunday drive.

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Do you miss those care free days of driving with the windows down with the sweet smells of spring tickling your nose?

I don’t think you can find a better place for a Sunday drive than on the Blue Ridge Parkway – right here in Roanoke, VA. Many people drive from across the state to spend the day ambling down the Parkway and enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery, but for those of us who live in Roanoke, it is a local treasure that we often enjoy. The weekend is the perfect time to go up on the Parkway for a picnic at Peaks of Otter, just a 45 minute drive down the scenic parkway.

Bring your water shoes, and your fishing pole because Peaks of Otter offers a creek for the children to play in and a lake for fishing.  If you are feeling adventourous, why not hike to the top of Sharp Top Mountain while you are there.  Life seems to slow down a little bit when you are on top a mountain, the stress and worries seem to fade away. Have You Had Your Free New Home Buyer Counseling Session?

Friday, February 5th, 2010

The New Home Buyer Counseling Session was developed by Boone Homes of Roanoke to answer Buyer/REALTOR questions about our homes, address concerns, provide ways to customize plans, prepare a personal “Wish List” of options and to walk through each phase of the construction process.

Our Vice President of Construction and New Homes Sales Manager meet with every buyer and their Realtor for this session, allowing us to be able to address questions about construction, purchase agreement and financing. This session usually lasts an hour and half. This is the perfect spot for both the buyer and the Realtor to have all of their questions answered. The session is completely customized to the buyers needs and is designed to make sure that everyone leaves confident and happy with their purchase.

Buyers are able to create a “Wish List” that begins with the base price of the home and then adds pricing for each option selected. The total price of the home is then shown and  buyers see exactly where their money is being spent. (more…)
