3 Showcase Homes: The Best Things Happen In Groups

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Some of the best things in life happen in groups.  Think about it.   Three chocolate bars shared with another friend are better than trying to share two fun-size bars.   I haven’t read the fine print, but there must be a no share policy written on the bag of each fun size candy bar, simple candy bar ethics.  Another example, a gift certificate for a double-mini-cake-doughnut with pink frosting and white wedding bead sprinkles alongside a frappe places higher on the good gift list than just a coffee.  Boone Homes has applied this very reasoning to building Richmond new homes.  Why build one, when you can build three and make them really sweet.  Let me explain. “Chic” New Plan

Monday, September 6th, 2010

“Chic.” How else can you define one of Boone Homes newest floor plans?  One look reveals the stylish meld of spatial design, practicality and smart luxury.   A simple review of the Medworth, one of Boone Homes newest plans, will satisfy the thirst for family space in even most discriminate, while accentuating luxury for the most savvy of buyers.

A prime example of chic in one of our luxury new homes is marked by transitions from one space to another.  Simply stated, a transition must captivate the essence of one space without degrading another.  Consider the decadent dining room with wainscoting and luxurious coffered ceiling in the Medworth.  The dining room captivates the smart sophisticated luxury and is defined as (more…)

Location, Location, Location …

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Thinking of moving to a new home?  Wondering where you should start looking?  Well, you should ask yourself some questions first to narrow down your search.  After all, the first decision you need to make is Location, Location, Location.  Isn’t that the key in real estate?

Hopefully, by now you have it narrowed down to what state, and city you want your new home to be in.  But that can still leave a huge area for you to search.  So to narrow your search,  think about these things, and organize them in order of their importance to you.

  • Do I want to be close to work ?
  • Do I need to be close to my children’s school?
  • What hospitals and doctors  are nearby?
  • What about parks, restaurants, and shopping?
  • Is it close to my worship center?
  • Do I want to be near family and friends who live there?

Once you have considered these items, and put them in order of importance — say your first priority is being closest to the children’s school; start looking at communities near your child’s school, and see what they have to offer.  For example, many parents in the Richmond area love Chesterfield county schools.  If you want your child enrolled there, then consider Boone Homes’  Haywood Village at Charter Colony or Tarrington Courtyard Homes.   If you (more…)

The snow is gone and spring is in the air! We all silently bow our heads and thank our lucky stars that the snowy days of January and February are long gone. It is time to celebrate spring!

The Price of a Good Education: Priceless

Friday, March 12th, 2010

As a country we had to learn the value of a dollar in 2009. Tough economic times like last year have not been experienced since the Great Depression. No more super sizing, more of us these days are looking at those dollar menus. It doesn’t make us misers just more mindful. Frivolous spending is the thing of the past.

But the one thing that people will not put a price tag on is the communities in which they raise their children. No value can be placed on that, to some it’s priceless. Our communities are strategically built in some of the best neighborhoods Virginia has to offer, like Chesterfield County for example, which own the bragging rights for being an “Award Winning School System in Central Virginia”. RISE: Indoor Soccer Like You’ve Never Seen it Before

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Soccer Fanatics Unite! The day is over the night is young, let’s play soccer!

Feeling like the Virginia snow has killed any chance of getting outside for some fun with your friends? Wishing you had a place to take the kids so they could let off some steam?

Luckily I know a soccer secret hide out where no secret password or hand shake is needed to gain access to a game.  The place?  The RISE (Richmond Indoor Sports Experience) sports complex in Midlothian.

The RISE is a fully enclosed sports complex where you can choose from a variety of soccer skill levels, age groups and interests.  There are soccer groups for those still trying to reclaim and prove their youthful skill and for those who are truly youthful with skill.

I have personally joined the “wanting to reclaim and prove your youthful skill” soccer group.  I would rate the games as intense and challenging.  The RISE also uses the indoor sporting space for baseball pitching practice and Lacrosse training.

For those who live in Haywood Village at Charter Colony, RISE is just minutes from home, making it easy to take the kids to all of their weekend sporting events. (more…)
