Still undecided about what to do? You still have time to research, understand what can be done and make a decision. We still have a couple of weeks left. Not to vote – that has already been decided, but you can still decide on what your kitchen will look like in the newest home located in Tarrington on the James. This new home located at 3225 Fulbrook Drive in Midlothian, Virginia is at a stage where the last little bit of siding is being applied and soon the kitchen will be installed. Each graceful detail of the home’s interior is  in the undecided category. Not that the award winning selections coordinators at Boone Homes, a Richmond custom home builder, have not already analyzed what the options could be. We are only awaiting a decision.

Recent Sales of New Homes in Richmond Show Signs of Improvement in Real Estate

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Westcott at Grey Oaks is one of Richmond’s most sought after new home communities in the Glen Allen and Short Pump area. This year has proven to be a rewarding year for Boone Homes, the Richmond custom home builder in Westcott at Grey Oaks. The last 2 sales in Westcott, the Oxbridge floor plan and Toddbury floor plan, have proven that the luxury market is still alive and sales are improving. Both homes sold, reflect the values of the luxury community. Plenty of bedrooms to accommodate the family, open spaces for formal gatherings, informal spaces for private conversations and business spaces intentionally designed for escaping while being centrally located to the family on the first floor of the home. Both of these homes were homes in what Boone Homes calls Showcase Inventory, or homes under construction for sale. (more…)

Enjoy the patio of your luxury homes in Richmond

Lazy summer days are best enjoyed on the low maintenance patio of your luxury homes in Richmond with an iPad, Kindle or other wireless reading devise. A gentle breeze can manipulate the senses as you read “The Count of Monte Cristo” and transform your yard into a high stakes duel with the ocean’s salt wind in your face. Sip a tangy fruit smoothie and catch up on the latest wireless version of “Food and Family” and find the best dessert recipe for the evening’s cookout. A patio is certainly the best place to spend lazy summer days – as long as you don’t have to consistently spend time maintaining it. You have more to do than spend time every year maintaining a wooden deck. Life is too short for unneeded maintenance. (more…)

Richmond New Home Technology Saves Wildlife, Part 4

Richmond new home building practices help save the environment.

This picture was taken fifteen feet from our model home in Tarrington on the James, a community of Richmond new homes. This turtle had been strolling up the sidewalk and was gently moved to where the picture was taken. I couldn’t help but think of the 24+ acres of trees we had saved this last year by building new homes with ENERGY STAR features. Saving these trees ensured a long life and future for our turtle friend.

How did a Richmond new home builder achieve such synchrony with nature? Easy. Boone Homes chose to change a few methodologies, a few materials and a few concepts to gain increased energy efficiency on the new homes we are building. Prime real estate in Richmond is now more than the location for a quality luxury home. Prime real estate is now the location for high quality luxury homes which perform 38 to 45 percent better than other new homes without the high performance technology. Each new home built on this prime real estate ensures the preservation of wildlife, turtles and acres of trees. Not bad. (more…)

Beer Bonus or Quality New Homes in Richmond

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

Offering closing bonuses to entice people to sell or buy new homes in Richmond is not a new thing. Many bonuses take the form of gift cards, credits or as lively as beer. Yup, you heard me right, beer. Recently one seller in Chicago, as reported by Tara Steele on AgentGenius.com, decided that a fraternity-style appeal would be necessary to sell her home which prompted her to offer a $1,000 beer bonus at a local bar for the lucky purchaser to enjoy after closing. Do you really need that much beer to make the deal look good? What would the implications of this frat-style offer be?

Boone Homes, a Richmond custom home builder, does not need to include thousands of dollars of libations in order for you to know you received a great home at a fair price. Each Boone Home is crafted with care from the conceptual thought, through production and settlement. Furthermore, each new home is monitored by a warranty and service team with predetermined and scheduled service at 60 days and at the 11 month mark so you don’t have drink to forget a poor choice.

The 1/2/5 year warranty on a well-crafted new home will give you the peace of mind necessary for many years to come. If you should ever need to sell your home, you can rest in the fact that Boone Homes has the highest rate of repeat clients purchasing new homes of anyone in the Richmond metro market, and you won’t need to offer libations to sell your home.http://www.boonehomesblog.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif (more…)

New Homes in Richmond Without the Hidden Trap

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Richmond custom home builder Boone Homes would like to ask: Have you ever felt caught? You know, the feeling of hopeless anger touching the last nerve of patience and mushrooming into a cloud of despair? Usually that happens during one of two times. One, when someone has manipulated events to gain the upper hand; or two, when our thinking was less than critical and we left irrelevant information out that should have been considered. The second trap is the most dangerous of all because we convince or reason our minds into what an answer should be without considering crucial angles. As a new home professional working with Boone Homes, I see this quite often. Let me explain.

Many who are on the hunt for a home these days are surrounded by exceptional opportunities in real estate. The Richmond real estate market is no different and is equally laden with used homes and plenty of opportunity. The challenge with these opportunities lies in while they may fit the budget and portray a tremendous opportunity they don’t address a hidden trap. The trap of what the future holds. This trap has many consequences; we will only discuss two today. (more…)

Long Term Decisions and Graceful Living in Richmond Maintenance Free Homes

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Decisions.

We make decisions every day: Simple decisions like, what will make for lunch in the kitchens of our Richmond maintenance free homes, or what is the best time to call my mom? The cumulative effect of these decisions is who we are today. Some decisions were obviously good in hind sight. Others, well, we can laugh off as indiscretions.

Very few repercussions effervesce from the simple decisions, but what about other bigger decisions like:

  • How will I handle aging?
  • How long will I be able to be independent?

Ignoring these questions has a greater impact on life than ignoring the question of “mayonnaise or mustard?” Putting life into perspective, 70 percent of all people will stay in the place they live after the age of 65 (data from www.seniorresource.com). The challenge with this statistic is most homes are designed for the stage of life when agility went hand-in-hand with child rearing. The statistic of 70 percent is a common fact that needs to be related to the bigger question: what are your plans? (more…)

Hurricane Irene and Richmond New Homes

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Swirling trees, gale force winds and driving rain can be a combination for destruction. New homes in Richmond within reach of a hurricane feel the wrath and fury of the storm. The saturating rain softens the ground causing trees to tip over destroying all within reach, including power lines. Being without power while camping for a weekend may be exciting, but it’s not as exciting when you’re living in your own home without power. Many times the absence of power can even stop the flow of water. Rustic camping is one thing, rustic camping in your own home is another.

For this reason, many of Boone Homes’ customers decide to add a generator switch to their home during the construction phase. These generators can be portable generators that are hooked up to the switch once power is lost or a whole house generator with a separate circuit breaker and powered by the natural gas. (more…)
